I am so behind in my Guided Math book study, but I'm not going to be catching up right now. First things first: I need to thank Alicia over at Dreamlike Magic Designs for my B-E-A-utiful new blog design. It's pink, it's purple, it's flowery, and I simply LOVE it!!! :-)
Today, I want to talk about (and share with those of you who are not familiar) my favorite Web 2.0 tool to use in the classroom. Meet Popplet:
Check Popplet out here! |
A quick overview. This site allows you to create graphic organizers. Some AWESOME features it has include the ability to imbed images as well as YouTube videos. My students and I LOVED using this tool last year to review concepts, generate vocabulary, and work on reading skills that went with our reading textbook (cause and effect, etc.)
I LOVE incorporating technology into the classroom, and my students LOVED it, too. While I do not have an iPad (Hello, Apple? Would you like to give me one? Pretty pleeeeeeeeease!!!!), I know that Popplet does indeed have an iPad app, for those of you that do own iPads to try.
*Disclaimer: Neither Popplet nor Apple are in any way affiliated with this blog post. I really just do LOVE Popplet, and I really DO want my very own iPad. :-)

Have you embraced Web 2.0 technology in the classroom? What is your favorite Web 2.0 tool to use?
Stay tuned for Guided Math chapters 5 and 6 in the next few days. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
